The second instalment of our Original Series comes from the German minimal House and Techno maestro Christian Burkhardt. Christian Burkhardt is an artist truly absorbed with the range of sonic possibilities. A producer not content with existing within the realms of House and Techno, but one that is determined to further stretch its limits with his signature sound. A native of Heidelberg, Germany, who along with the likes of Reboot, Johnny D, Markus Fix, Ray Okpara – all from the country‘s Southwest quarter – have carved out a niche‘ revolution within House and Techno that has influenced the global electronic music community nearly as much as Detroit, Chicago, London and Berlin have in there respective years of glory. He approaches music-making with a strong detail to complex rhythms that not only move your body, but rise above generic club music. His masterful use of technology meshed with the warm sounds of analog gear and many of music production experience, have tinged his production with a unique sound that other producers praise and DJ‘s never seem to stop playing. With releases on well respected labels such as Cocoon, Raum… Music and Eastenderz, to name a few, he has established himself as one of the top underground artists.

Widely recorded in an abandoned water tower in the Santa Monica Mountains, with mobile recording equipment and stocked with materials such as metal chain links and using her own body, mouth, and voice to find unique and inspiring ways to create natural chamber reverbs, this pack artistically pairs the unnatural with the natural to render sounds that are completely new. When you think of recording vocals, outdoors or large echo chambers are not the first place that comes to mind, but this was very much the appeal. Using years of professional engineering and vocal processing experience, Jessy pushes the boundaries of what’s possible combining her love of the outdoors with experimental processing. This vocal pack is synergised with quirky yet usable uniqueness.

Filter House offers an assortment of drum hits and one-shots to deliver full-track inspiration in a bespoke collection capturing the sonic timestamp of an underground movement that influenced producers for years to come. Filter House is the result of several studio sessions working with various analogue drum machines and synths. We composed and reworked funk/disco style loops to capture the authentic filter and French touch style sound. For extra quality and character, we’ve cut all the filter and resampled loops for proper vinyl dust, crackle, and dirt to further authenticate the process and techniques synonymous with the era and the sound.
